Vincent

Vincent is a one-man show illuminating the life of artist Vincent Van Gogh, performed by acclaimed actor Jean-Michel Richaud. The play opened in Los Angeles at the V.S. Theater late 2012, enjoying three extensions, a 14-week sold-out run, and excellent reviews. Throughout the play, more than a hundred of Van Gogh's paintings are projected on a framed screen, providing a rich overview of the artist's work and a visual complement to the unfolding story.

Performance, open to the public, at 7:00pm at Gardiner Public School on October 25, 2022. Tickets available at the door, $10 for adults, kids free!

We’ll also be offering a workshop for Gardiner Public School Students the morning of October 26, 2022!

Artist in Residence

Electric Peaks Arts Council is proud to announce its selection of Jonathan Savage—Singer, Dancer, and Songwriter—as our 2022-2023 Artist in Residence. Jonathan will be residing in Gardiner for the month of November, and plans to host several workshops and write a song for Gardiner. Stay tuned for an event at the end of the month showcasing his work here! Jonathan shared his perspective on art and the community in his compelling program proposal:

"I’ve always loved to sing. It’s my first love. Thus musical theatre was a natural career choice. Graduating college in 2018 with a BFA in musical theatre, I moved to NYC ready to tackle the infamous actor hustle, much to my success. So much so that I found myself at a final callback for what could have been my Broadway debut, if only the pandemic didn’t shut down the world. In quarantine I found solace in songwriting. It was something I had always wanted to do but fear got the best of me. But with this newfound time, inspiration flowed; even more so when I made the decision to go West in a van, and eventually landed in Yellowstone National Park teaching at LPLC for a year.

My experience there led me to create my one man show, Farewell to the West, first performed in Gardiner, MT, and then ran at two of the most prestigious cabaret nightclubs in NYC to rave reviews.

I owe so much of my recent successes to my time in Gardiner, and the material I want to create hinges from this time in my life. The power of art lies in truth and being there would be so imperative to the writing process and helping to capture the majesty of this place and experience."

Last Best Comedy

Image of comedy performers

Last Best Comedy: Annie and Levin O’Connor moved to Bozeman, Montana in the summer of 2018. A power couple from the improv world of Chicago and Los Angeles, they didn’t know what they would find in the small mountain town when it came to improv and comedy. That summer they met Molly Hannan and other improvisers from the troupe, The Bozeman Improverts and found a passionate and eager comedy community. Together with Molly they formed Last Best Comedy in 2019. They wanted to build on that foundation and create a space for more performance and training in Gallatin Valley. The mission of Last Best Comedy is to be a premiere place to experience, enjoy and laugh; a place for community, connection, and fun. https://www.lastbestcomedy.com/
